Basic Program

Nursing SimulationWhether entering UB as a freshman or transferring from another institution, the BASIC nursing program prepares graduates to sit for the NCLEX RN licensing exam and pursue positions in a wide array of health care settings.  Graduates of the BASIC nursing program are well prepared for community based nursing care experienced in both hospital and community settings.  A curriculum encompassing biomedical and social sciences, clinical nursing, and University General Education courses ensures that students have both the professional education and broad skills to assume nursing positions throughout the health care spectrum, including leadership roles.
