Nursing Coursework
The curriculum of the ABS program is based on appropriate modifications to the Basic BS program. The prerequisites of the program are adjusted to reflect the student's maturity as a scholar and ability to transfer learning to another discipline. All prerequisites must be completed before begining the program. The academic requirements of the BS degree includes a 54 total credit curriculum completed within a strict, 12-month timeframe.
Since Accelerated BS students have already met the requirements for and have received undergraduate and possibly graduate degrees, they will take some graduate level nursing coursework. These courses will assist students in gaining a level of knowledge within a particular substantive area, while adding graduate credit to their transcript for future application toward a graduate nursing degree.
