Candidates to the DNP program can be admitted to one of two tracks: post-baccalaureate and post-master's. Applicants must complete all of the following requirements to gain admission.
**Current BS students may pursue part-time DNP admission to the clinical nurse specialist and nurse practitioner programs through the Early Assurance Program.**
Admission to Post-Baccalaureate DNP
- Must have attained a baccalaureate degree in nursing with an overall GPA of at least 3.0
- Must possess an active United States RN license
- Nurse Anesthetist applicants must have a minimum of one year critical-care RN experience
- Submission of standardized test scores are required: Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or Miller's Analogy Test (MAT) - UB’s GRE school code is 2925; MAT code is 1514
- Prerequisite statistics course (resulting in the attached competencies)
- Application includes statement of professional goals
- Three letters of professional recommendation
- Curriculum vita
- An admissions interview with UB School of Nursing faculty
Admission to the Post-Master's DNP
- Must have attained a GPA of at least 3.25 from an advanced practice, nationally accredited master's nursing program
- Must possess an active United States RN license
- Must have current national certification, if applicable
- Submission of standardized test scores waived for applicants with > 3.5 MS GPA:

Financial Aid Information
Several types of financial support are available for doctoral students. Full-time students may apply for teaching or research assistantships, scholarships, pre-doctoral fellowships that provide tuition and a stipend, and federal traineeships that also provide a stipend.
